If you are a GP, therapist, or psychiatrist seeking a trusted and compassionate residential setting for your patient’s recovery journey, Sierra Recovery Spain offers an evidence-based, medically supervised environment tailored to each individual’s needs.
We value collaboration with referring professionals and, with the patient’s consent, maintain open lines of communication throughout their time with us. Our team is committed to supporting both the patient and the professionals involved in their care.
Who We Support
Residential treatment at Sierra Recovery Spain is particularly suitable for individuals who:
Are seeking to achieve sobriety in a safe, substance-free setting
Have not maintained long-term abstinence through community support groups alone
Require an intensive, immersive therapeutic programme in a structured and supportive environment
Are managing co-occurring mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, or PTSD
Have physical health issues such as liver disease or other substance-related medical complications
Are at risk of long-term dependency due to lack of effective alternatives
Live in environments where exposure to triggers or unhealthy influences impedes recovery
How to Make a Referral
We welcome private referrals from healthcare professionals across disciplines, including general practitioners, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, social workers, and substance misuse specialists.
To initiate a referral, please contact our admissions team through the form below. We understand that every individual’s situation is unique, that’s why our admissions team will reach out to discuss the patient’s condition in detail and determine whether our therapeutic approach is suitable for their needs.

Once this initial step is completed, the patient will undergo a clinical assessment conducted by one of our psychologists specialised in addiction. This will be followed by a medical evaluation carried out by our collaborating physician, who will also be responsible for overseeing the patient’s medical care throughout their stay, according to their specific needs.
A written referral outlining relevant medical and psychiatric history is typically required, and additional clinical input from the referring professional may be requested to ensure a smooth and informed admission process.
During the clinical and medical assessment, we carefully evaluate:
The patient’s current physical and psychological condition
The need for a medically supervised detox
Their history of substance use
The presence of any co-occurring mental health disorders
This thorough evaluation allows us to design a personalised and safe treatment plan, focused on the patient’s long-term recovery and wellbeing.
Ongoing Communication During Admission and Treatment
Prior to admission, patients receive a comprehensive information pack detailing the treatment programme, daily structure, and what to expect upon arrival.
Once admitted, we maintain ongoing communication with the referring professional, providing regular updates on the patient’s clinical progress, as well as discharge planning and continuing care recommendations from our Consultant.
To facilitate this information sharing, patients are asked to complete a consent form authorising the release of relevant clinical information to the referring practitioner.
