A Clinically-Led, Evidence-Based Approach

Our programme is built on a foundation of evidence-based psychological models. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Somatic Experiencing, and EMDR, all of which are applied within a trauma-informed framework. Every client receives a tailored treatment plan designed to meet their specific clinical needs, taking into account substance use, psychological history, and personal goals.

Clients attend a high number of structured therapy sessions each day, both in groups and individually. These cover a range of clinical themes, from emotional regulation and relapse prevention to trauma recovery and relationship dynamics. Our therapeutic approach is designed not just to interrupt addiction, but to support long-term psychological recovery.

Life at Sierra Recovery

Each day follows a carefully designed routine, balancing therapy, activities, meals, and time for personal reflection. Clients participate in a full clinical schedule with up to five group sessions per day, alongside three individual therapy sessions per week. We also offer equine-assisted therapy, family therapy, and psychiatric input as required.

Outside of formal sessions, we promote physical and emotional well-being through seasonal activities such as kayaking, nature walks, and excursions to local villages. Our facilities offer a calm, welcoming environment where privacy, dignity, and therapeutic progress come first.

Continuing Care Beyond Your Stay

After completing the residential phase, clients may continue working with their lead therapist through a package of follow-up sessions conducted online. Weekly virtual group therapy is also available, as well as in-person sessions in London. For those transitioning to another clinician in the UK, our team can coordinate a full clinical handover, with the client’s consent, to ensure continuity of care.
