This calculator compares the published cost of residential addiction treatment in the UK, the United States, Australia and Spain. The figures are indicative ranges collected from providers’ own published prices and public directories, not quotations, and every centre sets its own fees. Sierra Recovery’s own price is £9,900 for a 28-day residential programme with a private room included, published in full. A medically supervised detox, where it is clinically needed, is arranged and billed separately wherever you go.
If you are trying to work out whether you can afford this, you are not doing anything unusual. Most people reach this page having been quoted nothing at all elsewhere, or a figure that turned out to exclude half of what they needed.

Where a detox is clinically needed it happens in a hospital before admission and is billed by that hospital, so the cost depends on which one and where: a UK hospital detox and one in Málaga are priced very differently. Indicative prices, not a quotation. The Sierra figure is our published price. The comparison columns use the stay ranges quoted on this page plus typical UK private add-on rates: a single-room supplement of about £1,000 a week, 1-to-1 therapy at £60–£150 a session, specialist therapy at £85–£150 a session, and a year of weekly aftercare costed at the same rate as a 1-to-1 session. How much aftercare a centre includes varies, so ask each one what its own price covers. The US column scales those add-ons by the same ratio as the published stay prices. Every clinic sets its own fees, so confirm directly with any centre before you rely on a figure.
And the year after the month
The figure above prices the residential stay. What it does not show, because most comparisons do not include it, is what happens once you are home. Aftercare at Sierra is one session a week for a full year, online wherever you live or in person at the PROMIS clinics in London. Across the twelve months that is more than 48 sessions, and all of it is inside the £9,900 rather than sold to you on the way out. When you compare centres, ask each one how long their included aftercare runs and what it costs after that, because a month of it and a year of it are described with the same word.
